How do i book an appointment at auten dye psychological group?
Finding the right psychologist for you is highly personal. You want a counsellor who shares the same values as you, and has the skills and experience to support you in your healing. Start by learning about the psychologists on our team. You can read their biographies to find out more about the services they offer and see their rates. Then contact them directly via email or phone to book an appointment.
During your first counselling session, you and your psychologist will meet one-on-one in a cozy office space to discuss the process of therapy. This conversation will include client confidentiality and the limits of confidentiality, and will help begin the therapeutic relationship.
How often do I need to attend, and for how long?
Therapy is very individualized, and each person comes with their own expectations and needs. We like to start with appointments once per week in order to create trust and rapport. After that, sessions may become less frequent. Some clients only attend 3-6 sessions, and others, many more. It all depends on your needs and progress.
What is confidentiality?
Confidentiality means that the things you discuss in sessions will stay between you and your psychologist. There are, however, some limitations to confidentiality. In the following circumstances, we have to provide you or your child the extra support and help needed by bringing in further services:
If you tell us you are going to physically harm yourself or someone else (including suicide).
If you tell us you are being abused or you know of a child or elderly person that is being abused (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse).
If your file is subpoenaed under the court of law, we must turn your file over to the judge.
Assessments have additional fees. Fees are due at the beginning of each session.
We accept all major credit cards, cash, and email transfer payments.
Appointments may be covered under employer health benefits. Direct billing may be available with the following Employee Assistance Plans and government programs: Alberta Blue Cross, Green Shield, non-insured health benefits, Veterans Affairs / Medavie Blue Cross, and many others.
